With Anbu just out sight, Kisame was taking a particularly long, slow stroll. He was nearing the fifty-mile mark that dictated how far he could travel from Konohagakure without being apprehended. The closer he got, the bigger his smile, nothing made him happier than pissing off his guards, and testing his limits. The two ninja spoke to him from the trees, standing on low branches and coming into view as Kisame neared the border. Just warnings, of course, and if he knew what sort of trouble he was teasing. He wouldn’t cross, of course, he just liked to put them on edge...
One of his “escorts”, the one with the cat mask with green markings, sensed something, and dashed into the trees ahead, far out of sight.
Kisame’s pace didn’t quicken any, but when the sound of shouting and metal clashing echoed from a distance away, even he couldn’t help but jog to investigate, the remaining Anbu on his heels.
Breaking into a clearing, there were two figures. The cat-masked ninja, bloodied and face down on the ground, and a shockingly familiar face standing over the body... Hidan. Kisame couldn’t help but smile.
“Well. That was unnecessary.” He said, wolfish smile growing. “I thought you were dead.”
