How did you get a faery and how can I get one? What do they look like? Are some evil?
Haha you can't really "get" a faery. You can try to work with the fae if you feel called to, but they can be rather tricky and it's best to take lots of precautions when working with them.
I have a bit of a strange situation with the fae, which is why I work with them. Some people would call me otherkin but I really don't identify as that personally.
I started to work with the fae when I first got involved in Pagan religions. I used to accidentally astrally travel into the faelands; it's always been my spiritual home, and as soon as I got there, I met my first spirit guide. He led me to a fae who took me under her wing and helped me learn about witchcraft, and the faelands.
Every time that I have astrally projected, my form is a fae form, even if I'm staying on this plane. Most of the time I can feel it beneath my skin and my body.
I can't say what other fae look like, as I've only been introduced to a few, but the ones that I have met (and keep in mind this is purely personal experience and I probably see them a bit differently than they actually are) have
One looks pretty much like a human woman except she has gills along her ankles and wrists. She opens portals in sources of water and lives in a river. She usually wears a white dress but at times she doesn't wear anything.
One is tall with long blonde-white hair. She's a war-queen, with long wings and stripes on her face, and her wrists (I later realized that these were gills, but they look a bit different than most gills. They identify warrior fae. My form most closely resembles this.) Her eyes have cat slits in them and her teeth can grow out into fangs (not like vampire fangs).
I've met several mermaids, they're always kind to me but that's just because I'm "one of them" haha. They have gills on their faces and wrists too, but their feet are webbed (some of them are together, like the little mermaid). They really don't look scary, they're rather beautiful.
I've also met a few tree spirits, those are more difficult for my to see since they aren't really my terrain. But for the most part, they live in trees and come out, almost like an extension of the tree.
