Aaa thank you for the amazing chapter!!! Well, this particularly thought kept showing up in mind during my reading, how oblivious Isak was about everything related to his friends issues and how he is so much more aware of them now. Is it bc he usually was stuck in his room in his spare time or in his own head when he was obligated to interact? Or idk, is his depression so severe that he lost track of the people he care about bc he is so tired all the time? Lots of hugs to you and feel better ❤️
lots of hugs to you and thank you for your kind words!!! also, yes, this is a good thing to ask, because it is absolutely the fact that isak’s depressed -- and, well, doesn’t know it. this means that even though he’s going through the motions of his everyday life, he’s in his own head 24/7 (as we know, because he never shuts up) and, even though he cares so much about his friends and notices things that are right in front of his face (see: eva and noora), he’s out so very rarely (we see him in outings selectively -- we don’t see how much time he actually spends in his room, though it’s always hinted at) he can’t possibly keep up with/notice what’s going on with everyone.
