Glue: Glue MLP (2017)
What gets us to listen to punk albums like this? Getting to figure out what the fuck to make of the album cover. Itās Glue vocalist Mose Brown shouting into his mic- wrapped by a coil connected to an amplifier. Did you really think he was screaming in pain from wrangling the mic- from the clutches of barbed wire? Nopes. The absence of The Sandman and Sabu not in the audience shouldāve gave that away but no one knew that, right?
We played the entirety of Glueās MLP for a bonus Omega WUSB all-album punk broadcast two Autumns ago, and later on played āPig Fuckerā on another bonus punk broadcast to kick off our last spring broadcast season, right after our one-and-only deluxe noise broadcast on Leap Day. But none more fucked up than the album cover or explaining the calendar logistics of how we run our radio show is how rambunctious, staticky, and greasy these fifteen minutes are. Mouth-breather Brown is doing all he can to drown out Glueās rapid-fire feeding frenzy with his red-faced vocals over scene bullshit, hypocrisy, and toxic friends; enough to blow a fuse and get out of his car to commit road rage right in the middle of traffic on a busy New Jersey Turnpike (what exit?). But tape effects rule all, and do notice how they named their āFarm Iconā interludes after a certain female-noise favorite.
Interesting side note: Glue has some punk / d.i.y. gold in this line-up; as Brown, Cody Cox, and Arak Avakian share duties in Impalers and Institute. Get to it.
