Test, test...is this thing on?
So I decided to start a Tumblr. Why I'm not exactly sure yet, but it seemed like a good idea at the time (and since I haven't found a way to hurt myself with it, that's a good enough theory). Yes, I already have one blog (http://mdkauffmann.com/blog) but that one is specifically for my photography business. Yes, I import the posts from that one to this one. That business is a relevant part of my life. While I will plug that blog & business here, this will be much less formal. Yes, I also have Facebook & Twitter (search either for mdkauffmann). This will be a bit more substantial than those. But I'm a human away from work. This forum is going to be more brain-drippings about me as a person and life in general. So who am I? I'm me. Next question... Sorry - should've warned you I can be a little sarcastic. But it's true: I'm me. Let's define that from the basics. My name is Matthew. I'm 32 years old. I'm married to a beautiful woman who is the love of my life. We have been married for four years. We have no children (yet). I live in Lebanon, Illinois. My primary income is as a paramedic. I've been doing that for seven years. My side-line job (almost everyone in EMS had a side-line) is as photography. I do portraits and weddings for my own work (http://mdkauffmann.com), and some commercial work for a friend & mentor of mine (http://IMPDI.com). My wife works right beside me at the weddings. I am a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois (http://mychristchurch.com). It is the best church I have ever been involved in. I am one of the leaders of the photography ministry there and will be teaching Disciple III this coming year. So that's the current me. In future posts I'll probably tell you about my past (it'll be tense). Nice to meet you Tumblr-verse!
