If we are to say that race intersects with gender to create unique genders ie black gender is different from Asian gender and Asian gender is different from indigenous gender and indigenous gender is different from islander gender and all of these are distinct from “white gender” then we must also allow for the perspective that imperialism and colonialism have an impact on gender in a similar way.
Under these ideas it can’t be said that the gender we have now is the end all be all because so much gender was destroyed to make room for patriarchal gender. Likewise it’s important to understand that patriarchal gender isn’t the only gender, the only way to thing about gender or the single framework that exists for gender to exist.
Men can be and have been men outside of the patriarchy without necessarily having its downsides and “all manhood is bad” is a critique of masculinity that rests solely in precedent of the patriarchal gender system. Not in myriad of genders that rest outside of it.
