      the old  weequay grinned and pulled      up the navcomputer data.  it had  not      been  his  idea  to  team  up with  this      reptilian--   that  did  cut  profits,  after      all--   but  she  had left  him  with  little      choice in their  brief escapade.  funny      how    quickly    glitches     tended   to      appear  in  the  best-laid of plans.  oh      well...  the  day  was  not  yet  done.

      he  tapped  insistently  on the  co-pilot's      station, waving his other hand in a non-      acceptance  of  any  protest.

[ the yuuzhan vong are one of my favorite things about the sw expanded universe and I’m pretty miffed that they’re gone tbh

like honestly?? I’m tired. I’m getting tired of this constant, unending conflict between the dark side and the light. how many times can you rehash this? that’s probably why I latch onto stories that don’t directly involve the jedi or the sith-- things that are focused on the non-force scum of the galaxy, like criminals and bounty hunters-- and that’s especially why I latched onto the yuuzhan vong as a concept so much

are the NJO books perfect in execution? no. god no. they probably wouldn’t make very good movies, either.

but god damn, if the yuuzhan vong don’t so perfectly smash that whole dark-light duality with their bad selves. when the vong gave the jedi a run for their money, I loved it. imo they were exactly what the Star Wars EU needed so they wouldn’t fall into the same rut over and over again ]
