sometimes i envision spaus’s divorce like:
roderich signing the dissolution of marriage like he is so fucking done and just leaves with his italian charges (i need to brush up more on this but i know austria got sicily and naples for a bit)
antonio feels kind of annoyed by roderich’s nonchalance because what the fuck that’s it???? and on top of that he and francis can’t even really get married because the rest of europe is like hell no we’re not doing that because it’ll throw off the power balance
arthur is just glad he’s overtaken francis on both fronts and that’s really all he cared about (and that toni and francis’ marriage plans were kind of thwarted but shhhhh)
gilbert just smug as hell because he’s a kingdom now, bitch, and the love of his life is finally single after two hundred years but more importantly HE’S A KINGDOM NOW and he sided with roderich so he’s probably grateful right?
