Okay someone had asked me since I do ship these two if I had ever considered writing an UrarakaXBakugou fic. The truth is I had considered it but I never knew the right approach. So this is my hand at writing about these two. I listened to ‘Perfect Situation’ by Weezer to get the right vibe for this fic. There’s also some unrequited/one-sided! DekuXOchako going on here too to make it a little more interesting. Hope you guys like it!
Title: Perfect Situation
Pairing: one-sided!Midoriya Izuku X Ochako Uraraka, implied Bakugou Katsuki X Ochako Uraraka
Rated: Teen
Uraraka sat down on a bench outside staring at her hands. She had just gotten done calling her parents after going for a run. She was still feeling the sting of loss from the sports festival…her loss against Bakugou. It majorly sucked. People had already decided the match for her, that she would end up losing. Of course they had been right but then there were also people who said that matching her up against Bakugou had been cruel. Someone like him would never go easy on her.
Honestly, that had made her happy. She didn’t want an easy battle…she wanted something tough leaving her with bruises, scratches, blood, and possible scars. She wanted to prove that she could be a hero…that she could endure all of the rough and tumble that it takes to be one.
‘I don’t want to be the loser forever.’ Uraraka thought as the music blared in her ears attempting to drown out her angst. ‘Deku-kun needs a girl who knows how to be hero and hold her own…and that’s not me.’ Suddenly she heard someone sit on the bench next to her and looked over in surprise. He still held the same chronic pissed off expression on his face. The same scowl and angry red eyes that were looking at her.
“Bakugou-kun, what are you doing here?”
The glare intensified, “I’m sitting down, got a problem with that round-face?”
Uraraka shook her head, “Nope. You can sit wherever for all I care.”
“And you can get up and leave for all I care.”
Uraraka shrugged, “Yeah I could, but I just got done training so I need to rest for a bit and this bench is comfortable.”
The glare lessened, “Training?”
“Well yeah, I may have lost against you but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop trying to get stronger.” She gave him a small smile, “My pride’s still a bit bruised from the sports festival…but its been motivating me to do better.”
“Tch…well running isn’t going to do much for you.” Bakugou said.
“I know.” Uraraka said, “I really need to increase my defense and learn to make better use of my offense.”
“So do it. Ask that stupid Deku to help you.”
“I would but…Deku-kun is busy with other things.” Uraraka said with a heavy sigh, “He doesn’t have time to help someone like me.”
“Bullshit.” Bakugou said, “That bastard’s always helping people what makes you think he wouldn’t want to help you.”
Uraraka shook her head and felt her temper flare, “You-you don’t get it! Deku-kun is great the way he is! He…he can’t be wasting time to help me become a hero! I have to do it on my own!”
“You want to get stronger?”
Uraraka nodded.
“Then...fucking hell…meet me here at 5am…don’t bring anybody. Hell, don’t even tell them where you’re going.”
Uraraka looked over, “Huh? Bakugou-kun…what are you…”
“You said you want to get stronger, right? Then who the fuck better to fight than the person who defeated you?” Bakugou said and clenched his fist, “But just so you know…I won’t hold back.”
Uraraka gave a small laugh, “I wouldn’t ask for anything else.” She stood up, “5 am at this bench. It’s a date.”
And before Bakugou could get a word in she turned around and started running back to the academy.
“Shit.” Bakugou cursed as he leaned his head down and felt the sparks flare underneath his palms as a red blush stained his face.
