Your chorus of ‘ow’s is interrupted by Kanaya’s aggravated sigh. “Terezi, would you please stop complaining about the heels and just suck it up? This is a formal event, and it was requested by Feferi that everyone wears the outfit she designed. You know how she is about her fashion tastes.” The distaste is clear in her voice, being the avid fashionista that she is, but nobody would dare to argue with the birthday girl.Even if it wasn’t her birthday, Feferi Peixes is not someone anybody would fight. Unless you happen to be Sollux Captor. Then you can argue with her. But even then, there’s no chance of winning against her.“Why did it have to be heels though? I could have done anything else besides heels!” You will not stop whining. Terezi Pyrope does not stop whining. Even when explicitly told to stop.Kanaya just sighs again, running the comb through your hair again. You’ve been on your feet for the past fifteen minutes standing in place as Kanaya finishes dolling you up. Your face feels heavy despite the light amount of makeup and your body is feeling just as heavy because of the poof of a dress you have on. You don’t know why your friend loves masquerades so much and why she thought it’d be a great idea for her twenty-first birthday to be a masquerade ball between friends.The girl really was born in the wrong era.And you really cannot wait to find Karkat in his suit. That’s going to make this entire night worth it.
Karkat Taking Care of Sick Terezi [Implied Karezi]
I WANTED THIS TO BE KAREZI FLUFF.
BUT NOOOOOO THEY DIDN'T WANT IT TO BE. [They being Karkat and Terezi. Fucking Karkat was being difficult.]
“Hey Terezi, you here?” You knock on her respiteblock door a couple times. She hasn’t been seen around lately, and Dave wouldn’t tell you anything. Of course he wouldn’t tell you anything, Terezi really shouldn’t concern you anymore. You haven’t talked to her in months, hell you don’t even know if she wanted to talk to you.
She probably didn’t.
If she wanted to, she would’ve messaged you.
You’re about to leave when there’s a sneeze and a sniffle. “Terezi? You alright?” The only response is the clatter of noise – that isn’t a good sign. “Terezi!”
You immediately start punching in things for her respiteblock, worried something had happened to her. You stop when the door opens for you, and there’s a sickly-looking Terezi there, leaning on the wall and sniffling. “Dave? I told you-“
“Do I really smell like that douche? Have you really been spending so much time with the wanna be coolkid that you’ve forgotten what I smell like? Well, that’s just real fucking great, it’s awesome to-“ You were cut off by a sick troll girl hurling herself at you, grin as wide as you remember it being. “What the shit, Pyrope?!”
She grins down at you, colder and than you remember. “It’s been forever! Hehehe, I’ve missed you!” Her voice sounds a little off, too. Fuck, was she sick? Was there even medicine on this rock? Or was she going to die a terrible and gruesome death, never standing a chance against a simple cold because the fucktards who stocked this damn place forgot the God damn medicine? “Something wrong?”
“You- You’re fucking sick! Of course something’s wrong!” Your hand immediately goes to her forehead. What the fuck are you even doing. She always feels cold to you. “What is it? A disease? Flu? Stomach virus? Did Strider-“
“It’s just a little cold Karkles, chill out.”
“Fucking great, you really are going to die from just a wimpy little cold because-“
“Oh my Gog shut up. I’m fine! I’ve been getting better! I just... Can’t really smell anything. Or taste. So I’m pretty much blind again.” Her grin flickers, and for a second you can see a scared little wriggler that didn’t want to lose her sight.
But then her grin’s back. It was really only a flicker. “Getting better? Terezi, you fell over on your way to open the fucking door.”
She sticks her tongue out at you, then turns her head and sneezes, shivering just after. “Uhhhg, my heeeaaaad...” She groans and flops onto her side, then her back, laying next to you.
“Fuck- What’s wrong?” You sit up, worried and wondering and not wanting her to die slowly and painfully from nasal congestion. “What can I do?”
“Soooouuuuup...” She whines.
You give her a flat look, then hop up and dash out to get her some of the meteor’s shitty cluckbeast noodle soup. It takes about five minutes, and when you get back she’s still on the ground, whining for soup. You roll your eyes and prod her gently with your foot, sitting back down. “I’ve got your fucking soup, Terezi. Now stop whining and sit up to eat it.”
Thirty minutes later she’s finally asleep in her bed, and you have a horrible headache. Taking care of a sick blind girl will do that to you. Too exhausted to go back to your own block, you just flop over into her retarded scalemate pile and pass out.
