Silly fanart for @smilesatdawnmain's Missing the Then and Now

Basic plot summary: Macaque has amnesia, like complete doesn't know anything about himself or anyone else amnesia, and is on the airship with everyone fleeing from LBD. He has occasionally vague flashes of his past but is clueless to the rest of it.

This little comic is inspired by this paragraph in chapter 2

I thought it was really funny so I drew this.

It is not canon that Mei guessed what happened between the monkeys, I just thought it would be funny if she read Macaque like a book and figure it out, but hasn't said anything because as stated in the comic, they are dealing with enough already.

Macaque's ear color hasn't been finalized yet for this AU, so I decided since the amnesia turned him into a blank slate, his ears are white, and slowly adopting the colors of the people he feels either the safest around or concerned about.

The blue, which is the most saturated color, is from Sandy who he feels the safest with, and the orange is from MK, though it's much less saturated because MK is very distant from him, but he is very concerned for him.

And the top ear has yet to be determined, nobody has given him a strong enough response to make that develop yet. Though I suppose I could have made it go completely dark with his fear of Wukong 🤔

But none of that is canon, it's just me playing around with.
