Wip of a redesign + redrawing the ref for artfight

My impatient will be the death of me.

Artfight isn't going to be here soon but I just know I won't be able to finish more than 3 references even if I start now.

Redesigning this boy and giving him a real story + learning how to draw a dog. He was created in 2022, I hope I actually improved after 4 years, gosh.

Does it even matter anymore?

Art slumps happen sometimes. But maybe my art does matter, much to my doubts.

A random collection of sketches from different times at different stages of different media of both finished and unfinished artworks.

BTW I was so mad because I spent some time drawing his feet and they turned out really good (feet are my least favourite things to draw, I HATE them) but then I accidentally deleted the feet, saved the file and then closed the program, only to realize the mistake a second later.
