Beyond Challenges: Hope
Nobody ever said life is a walk in the park. Nobody ever has it easy. Even those who are sought after, rich, and powerful, they too are beset with all kinds of problems. The truth is, it’s not about how rich or poor a person is. Every one of us encounters problems because, whether we like it or not, problems are important parts of life. How can something challenging be important in life? Every challenge is meant to teach us something. Whether it is a lesson in honesty, humility, faithfulness or whether it is meant to teach us to love ourselves and forgive others, every challenge will teach us a lesson. Oftentimes we do not see the lesson while we are trying our best to survive the challenge. Sometimes we recognize the lesson only in hindsight. But it is always there, a lesson that is meant to make us better versions of who we are. Beyond challenges then, hope springs eternal—hope that we will survive every hurdle there is on our way and that we become who we are meant to be. The moment one challenge gets overwhelming, we can step back and take as much time as we need to gather ourselves, our wits, and our courage to continue. There is no need to rush, so take as much time-out as you need, but know that the journey must go on no matter the size of the challenge facing you. Just because challenges are important to our growth does not mean we are not allowed to rest and to gather our strength. We should do so without the need to explain or excuse ourselves. Rest is just as important for our personal growth. As they say though, the show must go on; hence, pick up yourself and face the music. Do know that there is hope beyond every challenge. Never lose that hope. Let it live eternally in your mind and in your heart and you will have won half the challenge. Read the full article
