HISTORICAL TOUR ONLY IS ALSO POSSIBLE! This large group of American students presently studying Spanish at the well known Elebaires language school in Buenos Aires, enjoyed a full day history tour of the UNESCO World Heritage village and city center of beautiful Colonia del Sacramento . Our wonderful local guide did a great job sharing her knowledge of Uruguay and its history in Spanish and English (when necessary); at midday the group got to experience Chivito the national dish of Uruguay from one of the best carritos (food trucks) in Colonia. After lunch they had some free time for souvenir shopping, visiting museums, artesanal market, aquarium or climbing to the top of the lighthouse (100+ steps) a great photo opportunity with spectacular views of the whole region and Buenos Aires 50km across the water, before their few block stroll to the port for their easy 1 hour return ferry trip.
