@andyalmknives and @joshzinz forging out a #chefsknife with #thepxsmith with me at the #IMRF
I did another sharpening pass today on the #IMRF #kukri I used my Dad's old stone and oils my Mom still had from the 80s. It was cool to have forged the blade from drive chain from his #harley-davidson and use his #sharpening stone. (at Erie, Pennsylvania)
More progress on the #imrf #kukri by #thepxsmith (at The Pixel Smith)
Today I started the #kukri for the #imrf auction. It's a special build for me as it is comprised of some old drive chain from my Dad's old panhead. It was a little difficult to do the first set of smashing. It felt like I was destroying something something of his and I didn't like that. For those of you who don't know my dad was killed in 1988 and the panhead was an old Harley Davidson he rebuilt with my Uncle Steve, who currently keeps it running. After I was able to get it into a more normal billet shape I relaxed a little and started to enjoy the process. I do hope it turns out well and it will be a great piece that raises a lot of money for the Injured Motorcycle Riders Foundation.
