Multiple Ironman Winner Camilla was flying on all cylinders until a bike accident on a training ride 4 years ago in September 2013 left her in an induced coma for 3 weeks. She broke the hip, contracted a skull fracture and had critical internal bleeding, threatening both her life and career … With a dream of reaching the Kona podium and having a ‘never give up’ attitude, Camilla has carried on dominating her races since climbing out of her hospital bed and was back to fitness.. by April the following year she competed and won at Challenge Fuerteventura half. A consitent top perfomer, she has more NUMBER 1 podium’s - than any other result - in her results list since starting her career in 2011, it’s like she’s never waivered from form… her motto is “Winners Never Quit, Quiters Never Win”, and don’t we know. A stalwart of the BMC/Etixx Uplace Triathlon team - and one of three BMC team members competing in Kona - Ronnie is as solid as they get, 9 time winner of IM Zurich and a 7 time Kona finisher (from 11 starts) just goes to show he puts it ‘all out there on the Queen K’. Kings & Queens of Kona 2017 Series - Maja Stage Nielsen (DK) . . .................................................. This will be the first time Maja will be competing in Kona, after qualifying with a 2nd at IM Mallorca and a 3rd at IM Texas... Danish pro triathlete, Maja, has been following her dreams since she was 10 paying Golf through her younger and teenage years, eventually playing for the national team at 16 and moving through the ranks. At 21 she packed it all in and moved to Lanzarote where she discovered triathlon alongside studying to be a Physio.
