Shannon’s arms crossed over her chest, a scowl expressed upon her features. It wasn’t fair of her to take our her anger and sadness on her friend, but she just couldn’t help but be upset and aggravated. The harsh criticisms she had received on her performance really hit hard, and she felt she wasn’t good enough – nor did she really feel like being a cheery little character today.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she glanced at her friend before letting out a soft, defeated sigh. Jenn was such a sweetheart, and Shannon knew she genuinely wanted to hear another song. She slid her hands into her pockets to keep warm and muttered, “Which song? This is the last one, though. Then I’m never singing again.”
