1. Do you have a favorite food, if so why is it your favorite?
Chocolate avocado mousse all the fucking way! I blend cocoa, avocado, almond milk, vanilla extract and dutch 'pannenkoeken stroop' (pancake syrup) until it becomes a nice creamy consistency, then I devour it...
Tomato-Feta salad, can't leave this dish out, it's simple but to die for. Just cut up cherry tomatoes with feta, olive oil and lots of lemon juice!
2. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of my achievements in sports, to be more specific, synchronized swimming.
I've been national champion multiple times, been part of the Junior Dutch National team and won 7th place at the European Championships last year.
3. Favorite book? Why?
An Evil Cradling by Brian Keenan. It's a biographical recount of the author being held in captivity in Beirut for several years. It is an incredibly well written book, I love Keenan's style of writing, it's beautiful and dense, one short phrase may contain much meaning, I was often forced to take breaks in order to digest what I've just read. It is a shocking book and it explores the peripheries of the human mind in such extreme situations as Keenan found himself in. I'm fascinated by how people deal with difficult situations, torture and pain, so that's why I love this book.
4. Do you like traveling?
Absolutely
5. Are you a religious person?
No
6. Would you rather be hated or forgotten? Why?
Oooh, that's a hard one. If you're forgotten, you can freely go along and do anything you like, you can be yourself and nobody would even care. If you're hated, people notice you, every step you take you feel stigmatized, watched, ridiculed. In both cases, you're still alone, an outcast, so I'd pick the one which gives me more freedom: forgotten.
7. What’s the biggest personal change you've ever made?
I quit synchronized swimming last September due to serious injuries. I went from 35 hours of sport per week to 0. Instead I became a coach. My whole world has turned upside down since then.
8. Do you like school/college? Why? Why not?
I love school. I despise being at home, there's nothing to do except for homework, internet and driving yourself crazy. School keeps you busy, teaches you stuff, you get to socialize, forget about issues and ignore the rest of the world. So I mainly enjoy school because it's a distraction, helps me hide from the reality of my own and everyone else's problems.
9. What makes you happy?
Working out, swimming, writing, maths, baking and kpop. Oh and of course, can't forget the essentials; food and sleep.
10. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
My joints and immune system (I'll count that as one, sorry not sorry :P ). Fucking autoimmune disease and crappy joints took away my Olympic dreams. If only my body would be healthier,
11. What’s your favorite color and why?
Turquoise - I love swimming, especially in the oceans and seas, this colour makes me happy as I associate it with the most wonderful moments of my life; when I swim.
Ready for my questions?
1. If you had to be a teacher in any subject, which would you teach and why? 2. How did you get into kpop? 3. If you could be any kpop idol, who would you be and why? 4. What's your favourite perfume? 5. What is your favourite word and why? 6. Would you rather be a circumcised woman or a eunuch? Why? 7. Describe your first kiss. If you've never kissed before, describe how you would want it to be. 8. What's your horoscope sign and would you say the personality description that pertains to your sign suites you? 9. What are some of your superstitions? 10. What is something you often day dream about? 11. What song describes you or your current situation in life? Or what song can you relate to?
