hpd + no empathy culture is how do i gauge how others feel. the only way i can guess how anyone else feels is through what i would do in that situation and i'm like. heavily disordered so like. "what would i like" LOADS of attention. stat. someone did something nice how do i show my gratitude. bomb them with attention? i know i would like that. i also fear any sort of confrontation so i never like. state my boundaries. i get scared of people putting their foot down because? what if i did something wrong?? do they need me to kill myself now????

#I have fluctuating selective empathy so I can’t say for sure but what I discovered is that while you can’t directly identify how others feel #you can ask them + there are usually specific phrases you can use that give the impression of understanding #and same with what someone would like for you to do when something nice is done. usually I say many variations of thank you and do something #in exchange #in my experience if someone sets a boundary depending on how close you are means either: if not close #they want to prevent future discomfort for themselves #and if close it means it’s something they’d like for you to know so they can continue talking to you comfortably #it’s less about having done something wrong and moreso communicating a need or limit so you know not to cross it #it’s preventative moreso. when I set boundaries with my friends it’s because I respect them enough to give them that elaborate explanation #as opposed to just blocking the #m #I get RSD but once you hammer into your head that boundary setting is more for Them and Their Comfort it is okay #granted mines been in remission for a long while now but yk #hpd #histrionic personality disorder #cluster b #hpd culture is...#histrionic personality disorder culture is...#culture is #🥀 submission #mod soma #🦇
