What an eventful weekend.

I have been dealing with my car misfiring for the past couple weeks. Friday was the day I hoped everything about it was gonna be fixed. Ha. I was sadly mistaken. Still misfiring after the shop “fixed it” and then did a test drive; so it can be returned to me same day. So Saturday morning I had to monkey around on the car, meanwhile I’m getting kicked out because my dog shit on the floor? Yeah. That’s right my car is breaking down and then I get kicked out. But get this, I had to work in about an hour after getting kicked out. I have a dog and no where to go. So I couldn’t work. Feeling helpless. I thank god for the parents I have because lord. I have no idea what or where I’d be now. They were nice enough to help me get a dog friendly hotel room for a couple nights. I got some beer and watch tv with my dog til I passed out. But still didn’t sleep too well. Kept waking up in the night. When it was finally morning and I woke up for the last time, I noticed a few messages from my mom. My parents are driving states away to come see me. To come help me not struggle. I’ve never expected this. With my dad being the only income and he literally just said “well guys, my kid is in trouble. I don’t know when I’ll be back but just know I won’t be here this week.” I just. I’m lost for words. I love my parents so much and I hate myself for all the bad things I said when I was a teenager about them.

In NC, you’re guilty until proven innocent

Ignoring evidence of faulty convictions:

As four men sat in prison for a murder they didn’t commit, records show that state investigators sent proof of their innocence to a North Carolina prosecutor, but he never revealed it to the convicted men.

He didn’t have to. Nothing in North Carolina’s legal standards requires a prosecutor to turn over evidence of innocence after a conviction.

In this particular case, the District Attorney was provided solid evidence that five men he’d sent to prison were innocent, but he chose to ignore that evidence and let them remain incarcerated. Not only should there be a Bar Association rule in place to discourage that, there should also be a criminal charge for an officer of the court who does that. He might as well have kidnapped these people and chained them in his basement.
