i like to think none of the mikes know what each other's names are. battat calls jongler idiot, rubberbrain, and bozo. battat has to ask pluey for his name. jongler calls battat boss, and forgets about pluey's existence sometimes so they probably also forget his name. pluey... pluey does speak, but maybe he doesn't do it often? at least not in the costume. maybe he just hasn't asked.

wondering about food darkners in deltarune. what kind of terrible existence must that be

the urge to make a shadowguy music language

#wheucto #wheucto speaks #it would be like based on relative pitch (like the intervals between) and not the specific notes #like 1 5 2 7 would mean the same thing in c major and a major despite those being different notes #(C G D B) (A D B Gsharp)#i could see shadowguys having perfect pitch and what's being said being based on which notes they play but relative makes more sense to me #i imagine things would be written in like c major treble clef. although maybe shadowguy language isnt always in major #hmm. maybe it defaults to c keys? c minor c mixolydian c dorian #different shadowguys speak in different keys... actually looking this up im not sure how saxophone notes sound #but there are alto saxes in Eb and tenors in Bb. so relative pitch makes sense #i should learn more about how saxophones work if i wanna make a shadowguy language #anyways. some words borrow from leitmotifs. like_ when you're talking about tenna (or maybe like. tv time?) you sing his leitmotif #and some leitmotifs are more like concepts. like flashback for smth w/ memory maybe...?#theres probably a better leitmotif for an example... ok looking through i dont think so really. but i'll give another one #mike leitmotif as stealth. since the leitmotif was originally supposed to be for a stealth section (but was cut)#i think the stealth leitmotif becoming mike's would be intersting. maybe shadowguys would notice and talk about it #as for how the language functions... maybe something like toki pona where words can function as adjectives nouns or verbs depending on uhh #particles??? or word order. i have uh rudimentary toki pona knowledge. so i might be wrong_#utala is a word related to fighting. wondering what a friendler dynamic would be like. maybe friend keeps trying to mess with jongler but its attempts to do so just roll smoothly off of them
