“Though you didn’t have to bring up me and Cho…” He said, with a laugh.
To his surprise, redness began to fan out over her cheeks — unless it was just the reflection of the setting sun behind them, but before Harry could come to any conclusions regarding this, she spoke.
“I— erm, yeah. Sorry about that,” She said, with a sort of false bravado, that might have been convincing if he hadn’t gotten to know her so well over the summer.
“I’m joking,” He said, quickly with a laugh, “I just thought it was funny, is all. Rounded out your argument well enough…just not a particularly pleasant memory.”
“Oh?” Her eyebrows rose, and a knowing smile took shape on her lips.
(Had they always been that pink? That soft? That inviting? Harry gulped).
