I recently watched a video that discussed a very interesting theory that I would like to share here!
In general, theory says that the widowed woman was/is (you will understand as you read on) the wife of the houseowner.
Since I am not a particularly eloquent person, I will simply recount the details provided in that video, adding a few thoughts of my own.
The first thing that provides the most accurate proof of this theory is the photograph given to us by the widowed woman:
Due to the age of the photograph, we cannot see her husband's face, but what is most important and immediately catches the eye is the blue sweater.
Almost all of the characters we encounter in the game (except for the photograph of the homeowner's presumed "wife") do not have such a vivid blue colour, which clearly may be hinting at something...
The second most compelling piece of evidence for the validity of this theory is when an seductive woman approaches us.
If we examine her teeth, which immediately appear to be a replica of the widowed woman's teeth, she also states that:
And, incidentally, this is the only sign that a seductive woman would say something like that...
Why teeth? After we look at the widow's teeth, we can put her on the top of our rifle and she will say this:
And if we look closely at the widowed woman's husband's corpse and the houseowner, we can clearly see some similarities:
But the most important question here is why the landlord does not react to the widowed woman and does not recognise her?
Well, now comes the second part of the theory:
In one of the dialogues, the widow tells us that her husband was ill, but because of fema (as she believes), he died.
Ultimately, the entire theory is based on the idea that the homeowner is in a coma due to his illness, which is why he does not recognise his widow. However, by imagining her carrying his corpse in her arms, perhaps symbolising the widow's struggle for his life, as well as her loyalty to him...
Well, that's basically it. Sorry for the mess, but I hope you get the idea (╯︵╰,)
