Into the third day in a row of ridiculous dry windy summer heat above 42deg C ( in Fahrenheit that’s 107.6deg F) Today it got to 44 deg C (111.2 F) A couple of fires 🔥 nearby but contained. All the beautiful flowers in my garden have been burnt to a crisp. Except of course the natives that are being show offs and clearly loving the extreme heat. Song of the Day "In a Black Out" by Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam. This sparse and haunting single is from the pair's upcoming album I Had a Dream That You Were Mine (due September 23rd on glassnote records). Originally written for the Walkmen's 2012 release Heaven, this Lisbon-era sounding track uses Leithauser's signature smoky croon and Rostam's stirring, evocative production to weave a tale of ardent desolation.
