Kay Kāvus is a legendary king of Greater Iran in Persian mythology and a central character in the Shāhnāmeh. He is the son of Kay Qobād, the father of Seyāvash, and the grandfather of Kay Khosrow, who eventually succeeds him. He rules Iran for 150 years, often relying on the hero Rostam to rescue him from the consequences of his reckless decisions.
One of his most famous legends is the Flying Throne, a wooden and golden throne lifted by trained eagles attracted to meat attached above it. Kay Kāvus uses it in an attempt to fly to China, but the eagles tire, causing the throne to crash. Rostam later rescues him.
According to the Bundahishn, Kay Kāvus also built five magnificent mansions of gold, glass, and steel. These were said to contain miraculous springs that restored youth and granted immortality.
The historian Al-Masudi recounts another legend in which Kay Kāvus builds a tower to challenge God and later invades Yemen. He is captured by King Chammar, but after four years is freed by Rostam, who defeats Chammar. Kay Kāvus returns to Persia with Chammar's daughter Sodâ, who had secretly helped him during his captivity.
Modern historian Dariush Zolfaghari interprets Kay Kāvus as more than a mythical ruler: in the Shāhnāmeh, he symbolizes the defense of Iranian cultural identity, political legitimacy, and national heritage, with his reign illustrating that warfare is as much about preserving civilization as conquering territory.
Shnezynaya is about to have a wolf infestation - Andrius will be there for his grandpup, and he can introduce his youngest pup (Razor) to his older pups (Rostam and Rosalyn). The Fatui are not prepared for a giant wolf god to show up with the Fair Lady’s fiance/husband. Rosalyn is very happy with her new baby brother. He can join the tea parties with her new (old?) friends. (Ooo, what about the Hexenzirkel?)
Zandik is enjoying himself once he gets to the safe house, it has labs! And research! What are aranara and why does he want one. (Thrain!MC pauses briefly before sighing. Zandik is doing something ill-advised again.) Pantalone is already en-route - he knows where Zandik is likely to be (and he’s right).
Thrain!MC is currently doing his best to get everyone together again. He needs coffee. Why are the people of Natlan being so nice and why are his men picking fights. Why is this his life.
(Thrain!MC has yet to realise that 1. Natlan now knows what he did for them, and 2. He’s attractive. Poor, oblivious man.)

I live the image of the wolves of wolvendom, Andrius + one small Razor invading Snezhnaya. That just sounds like pure chaos, but hey! At least ir got Rostam to Rosalyne before the baby can arrive!
And yes! Razor meets his new older sister and future niece or nephew! That will be so cute!

Oh, but the best part of this is oblivious Thrain!MC. Natlan as a whole is like his number one fan/simp now, and his men are acting like his body guard cause holy shit their former captain is attractive and it's bringing in people who want to get into his pants!

This is an amazing middle-grade novel that combines djinns and ancient Persian heroes with space travel. It's got a lovable hero who screws up and does better. A fantastic read!
