For those following the Ultimate universe (which is ending anyway so go figure), writers never uncovered the mystery of what happened to Doctor Strange. He was only hinted to be in a prison facility and was never again mentioned.
We had Inan as the Sorceress Supreme of said universe, except she... died in Ultimate Black Panther (which was very disappointing...). Now we got confirmation that a new character will inherit Stephen's origin box. And if that's really true, I have a problem with that.
Origin boxes are Tony's creations to kickstart memories, powers and costumes that were taken from these characters by the Maker in an attempt to create a world without heroes.
But Stephen's "powers" cannot be kickstarted because they're based on knowledge and years of practicing magic. I'm guessing the box will contain some important tomes like the Book of the Vishanti, perhaps even the Darkhold. But that alone couldn't fastforward all the mystical experience one must have to control magic.
I'll follow this new character but I don't have much expectations as I used to with the Ultimate universe, especially after reading the last issue and seeing how a beloved Peter Parker just... Yeah, that. Plus I'm generally just sad that once again Stephen was ignored...
Anyway, more posts to come as more info is dropped!
