Yeah, it's a technique. I've fallen for it a few times - they start reasonable, albeit maybe not super tactful about the thing. Then you expose yourself further in your answer and they use that. I tend to give messages like those the benefit of the doubt, but honestly I should just follow my gut. Learn from my mistakes kids.

Oh yeah, I probably should have included this to begin with. Sorry it took me awhile to get back to you. Generally milk means a few things in general western film. General cultural perception is huge in film. It’s both good and bad: Innocence Femininity Lack of masculine strength Abundance of feminine strength Maternity or motherhood Emotional intelligence Childlike nature Childlike dissonance… Like that famous scene shot in A Clockwork Orange when Alex and his cronies drink milk after performing atrocities. It’s to remind the audience that they’re still basically children. Ironic Control.. When an antagonist drinks milk, it’s usually a symbol of irony. A sort of control move.. they are “controlling the innocents” The divine sometimes Mittens and I kind of went over its use in Supernatural last night. It seems to represent “simpler times” in the work and is almost always framed as unattainable in some regard. The boys and several other characters go on “milk runs” or mention them. These instances are meant to be simple tasks but always end up more complicated, like 11.04. In 11.14, Dean pulls milk from the fridge and finds it to be spoiled, he puts it back in the fridge instead of throwing it away. He was looking for a simpler time, found it to be unattainable, but held on to the idea anyway. The idea of going “back to basics” is something expressed by the characters in show at various times, a time back when everything was known to them and the rules were simpler. It’s not a realistic goal though, they have to address the world for the complicated thing it is and learn to navigate and understand it. I don’t think it means they have to keep hunting forever, I just think it means they can’t keep clinging to old ideals and old ways of addressing things.

UK Blues headquarters swamped by long queues

Following the recent announcement of a new blues awards scheme, the offices of the organising federation were inundated by crowds yesterday. Representatives of acts who have repeatedly stated in interviews “Of course, we’re not blues artists per se…” rushed to register their wish to be excluded from consideration for nomination.

“It’s only fair” one said, “If we’ve banged on for ages about how we’re not actually ‘blues’ then we think it’s only right that we don’t throw our floppy hats into the ring: that would just muddy the waters. Ha ha… ‘Muddy Waters’. He was blues. Wasn’t he? I can never remember...”

*hug* the being hungry but not wanting to eat thing is definitely something that happens during depressive episodes for me. I'm sorry darling. Trying to be in education while depressed is a constant struggle, and while it mightn't feel that way right now, you're doing the best you can and you are so strong for doing what you do manage <3

Thank you <3 Problem is, I graduate by the end of this academical year or I graduate by the end of this academical year -_- my parents have paid a lot for the extra years I’ve already taken (3) and they’re not going to pay for more. In fact, we paid the last sum five days ago, and it was a huge sum, and basically my mom said that I’d either promise I’d graduate or she wouldn’t pay for it and I’d just drop out, but I asked her to pay for it so basically I have promised I’d do it. But now I’ve just dropped into a bad place - I have insisted for the last months that I was okay mentally and my illness wasn’t depression but something else, and now it’s just depression at full force. I don’t know how to deal with this. I’ve basically rejected all the help over the last year and... well, it’s complicated. I’m not gonna bore you with the whole story :)
