SYMBOL HEADCANON QUESTIONS. // @incantiori
📺 : what do they put on when they don't want to think?
Idk Digimon. Lol. Or cartoons. Ooooor… something that changes scene every frame so he has to lock in to understand what’s happening. So, that way, he is thinking a lot less outside thoughts. Action movies. Mystery puzzles. Something that has his brain going brrrr. He loves to analyze and use logic to solve things.
🎭 : how different are they with strangers versus people they trust?
Faaairly different. He is definitely a lot more polite with strangers, unless they show discourtesy— then he will show maximum output discourtesy. ( this is half a joke. It may or may not happen, depending, on his level of interest ) Satoru is very charismatic, knows what to say (or what not to say, contrary to popular belief. but it's really tricky. he can be considerate when he wants to be ). Strangers would likely meet his more eloquent side. But, this is just him being civil. Also, he doesn’t converse with strangers for long because A) he, again, doesn’t have the interest B) he has something else (more important) to focus on (likely the culprit).
Now, when he is with the people he trusts. Satoru is a loooooot more laid-back and himself. He gets to kick back and act brash. But that is also because he thinks no one is bothered by it, like for real-real. No hard feelings. Definitely a lot more playful and open-minded, too. Considering he spent a good portion of his childhood at his clan where he was quiet and distant, more serious, and close-minded in comparison. So, overall, he is more free with the people he loves. Gets to frolic around literally and metaphorically. Bonus thingy. He only likes physical contact with people he deems close/trustworthy. Infinity pretty much repels any foreign contact that he probably wouldn't like.
🧩 : what part of themselves do they not understand yet?
Well. If he knew that—
Ahem. I’d like to believe he doesn’t ‘struggle’ with parts of himself. And what he needed to understand he has already. Thoooough, if we speaking socially. Like, it’s him being oblivious more than anything. Sometimes his tongue or behavior can come off as rude or dismissive orrr… just generally irresponsible or maybe even insensible. Then yeah, this is probably the part he doesn’t understand whiiich is what other people see/perceive on the sidelines. But to him, it’s just him being— himself. Referring to the ‘no hard feelings’ part. And he doesn’t do all of that on purpose either. We have seen that if he is told that his behavior is bad in some type of way, he actually takes the feedback and tones it down. (ref. phanpara.)
🔒 : do they guard intimacy, or give it too freely?
I’d say he guards it. But not intentionally. He just prefers to be intimate with people he loves than people he just met (one night stands).
He can flirt a lot. Which gets him into situations where he has to dip if he doesn’t actually find the person attractive that much. And he isn’t afraid to move away if that is the case either.
He is passionate and fiery when it comes to intimacy and love overall. So, he isn’t making the effort for someone he doesn’t care about. He has to feel it deeply to want it. He's direct about it also, no beating around the bush or hesitating.
