Inca terns (and I) would like to tell you a little something about stationing. Stationing typically involves standing, sitting or laying down on a designated target or location. Animals learn hanging out on the station results in desired consequences. It’s an excellent foundation behavior that can lead to other things like scale training for example. It can be used to shift animals from one area to another. It can also be used to facilitate training an animal to enter a transport crate. All this leads to voluntary participation in preventative healthcare and day to day care.
