1. Pokemon kid or Digimon kid?
*whispers* Neither. I’ve never really been involved with either, but on the one hand I at least know what Pokemon is.
2. If you had the power to change reality without any negative repercussions, but you could only change one thing, what would you change?
I…well I know it’d be impossible and probably just wouldn’t work because for one it’s how people grow and become the people that they are and causes them to choose things that define the kind of person they are but…hmm okay so in light of that maybe I would get rid of all of it, but I’d make it so that bad things didn’t happen to people so much. Not just good people though, because as terrible as some people are making their lives worse just to make it worse or to punish them isn’t gonna do a thing. If they’re gonna be terrible make sure that they can’t hurt other people sure, but there are better ways to get them to be better than to make their lives miserable. Or actually maybe I’d do it the other way and just make more good things happen to people, or actually maybe it’d just be better if I could make it so that everyone had the opportunities to do the things that they wanted to do and would make them happy, provided that no one else is getting hurt because of it. Yeah, I like that last one.
Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh whyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I don’t really have a favorite favorite song gah. There’s just music I like and music I don’t care for or don’t like and music that I REALLY like and music that’s like aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh and sits in my heart all the time. Um a song that I bought fairly recently and really really really like is Girls and Boys in Love by The Rumble Strips. The last song I was listening to and still have in my head is Barlights by fun., and a song that I want to get in the near future is Ways To Go by Grouplove. Three songs that I'm really excited to have off of the Doctor Who Series 7 soundtrack are The Long Song (or Infinite Potential I'm not quite sure which one it is), Clara? (Clara's Theme basically I assume) and Bah Bah Biker. I really really really love the ending part of Martha's Theme, and I've only ever listened to The End of Time soundtrack all the way through once. Every time I listen to This Is Gallifrey or The Greatest Story Never Told, they just about kill me.
Okay basically favorite most anything is going to be really difficult for me to answer. I think the last movie that I watched and really liked was The Decoy Bride, the last one I really really liked in theatres was Warm Bodies (though the book is even better). When I think of animated movies the first things that come to mind are Tangled and Beauty and the Beast, though I know I loved Mulan when I first saw it enough that I was Mulan for Halloween in kindergarten, which is possibly a bit significant. Though also talking about Halloween costumes I was also Kim Possible in third grade and I love both A Sitch in Time and So the Drama to this day. And Being Kim Possible is on my list of dream jobs so.
Yet again, I am no good at this question. HOWEVER, I can tell you some books that you should read. Warm Bodies, for one, by Isaac Marion, is absolutely fantastic and is indeed one of my favorite books ever. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins and also her other book Lola and the Boy Next Door are both books that seem like things most people would stay far far away from, but they're both beautiful and very fun to read and basically if you're having a bad day they're the books for you. Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater is a book I've read multiple times and is to me the epitome of Fall books. If you haven't read John Green's books you of course should go do that. Oh and The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forrester is a book that every single person should read at least once.
Ugh this one's even harder because I can't even think of any. Um probably the one I've thought of most often recently is something that Shawn Ahmed said which is kindness is a choice.
Um hmm. I think winter probably? But really like after Christmas, when it's still pretty cold and the trees are like skeletons and sometimes it's overcast and the light's just like this really clear kind of light gray that's so pretty. Some parts of rather late fall as well, when it's cold and windy and maybe kinda dark.
8. If a time traveler showed up at your door and told you they’d take you to anywhere in time and space, where/when would you go?
So recently I was thinking of where of all the places they've been in Doctor Who I would want to go if I could have one trip anywhere not counting the TARDIS (because that's basically cheating), and without too much thought I decided that the Library is probably what I would choose. Well, the Library without all the Vashta Nerada. It's just so pretty and alien planet and IT'S AN ALIEN PLANET THAT'S BASICALLY CITIES AND CITIES AND CITIES OF BOOKS and also so pretty. But of just anywhere and everywhere hmm that's harder. I do think that while time travelling through Earth's history sounds amazing, I'd probably pick another planet. Maybe a planet in another galaxy? Somewhere else with life. Or just somewhere out in the middle of space where all you can see is stars (provided that I can be there and not die, and same for everywhere else I list). An alien planet (or moon I guess) though, yeah. I'd just really really love to be able to walk on different ground and see landscapes lit by a different sun and maybe even meet people who've lived their lives so far removed from everything I've ever known, or could know really. I just.....that would be so wow.
9. If you had the power to temporarily live the life of someone else in the past, present, or future, who would you choose to live as?
Oh wow I've never thought of that before. Hmm...it reminds me a lot of those Katie Kazoo Switcheroo books that I used to read and the sort of bodyswap stuff that happened in there never really turned out well except for maybe an expanded worldview after it was all said and done but aside from that I'm pretty sure I never finished a couple of them because the secondhand embarrassment was too great. But anyway trying to ignore that, mmm....I suppose I don't really have any specific preference? Like there are a ton of historical periods where it'd be amazing to have experienced what it was genuinely like to have had a life then. Though it'd also be pretty great also to be able to see what it's like at different points in the future and to see how things have changed. I think the only way I'd get more specific with this is that I don't think I'd want to be anyone really *important*. I'd rather see how everyday life was like. I don't think I'd necessarily want to do any specific event either, because I think for that I'd rather be there as myself, with the help of time travel or whatever.
10. If you could live in any fictional universe, which universe would it be?
Doctor Who. As much as Harry Potter AUs are my favoritest thing there's too much of the wizarding world that doesn't seem that appealing that I would like to live in it, and as much as I love Avatar and as cool as bending is there is no internet in that universe and the internet is something that I really really like. And in a lot of high fantasy books (which is the next thing that I thought of), while they have fun things like quests and stuff, there is always so much walking. Like, every day all day. Doctor Who is nice because while I would love to assume that I'd be a companion or something and that's what I'm signing up for with this question, even if I'm not it's basically just everyday Earth but there's confirmation that life exists elsewhere in the universe, and also even though lots of bad stuff still happens, there's people like the Doctor and the companions and Torchwood and Sarah Jane out there being, as Craig Ferguson put it, a force for good in an otherwise uncertain universe. And the show's mission statement is basically that the universe is a beautiful place, be nice to people, always try to stand up and do the right thing, and that there's always some kind of hope. The only times I've ever felt like that last one didn't apply is in choice moments of Moffat's run, and because of those parts I sometimes wonder whether he actually understands what the show is. So yeah. Doctor Who.
11. What would your dream significant other be like?
Kind to everyone, able to make me laugh a lot, able to make me feel better when things are horrible, and smart. Not smart like knows a lot of stuff or is really intellectual or reads a lot or anything like that necessarily, but able to look at the world intelligently and probably able to articulate their point of view in a way that I can comprehend.
To be best friends with some really really amazing people, and good friends with many more. To impact people's lives as positively as I can, even if that doesn't mean a ton of people. To do lots of things that make me really really really happy, and do even more things that make other people happy. To make nice things to put in the world, hopefully some of those being collaborations with people that I like a lot. To have many adventures, to be pleased with my life by the time I die, and to generally be as fantastic a person as I can be.
Okay so it is late and I like these questions, so everyone just answer these okay? I'll copy paste them again for your convenience:
