hey. uh. im not sure if this is a good thing to ask but how did you keep drawing consistently when you werent as skilled as you are now? like i mean. after every drawing you make youre disappointed with it because of the sheer lack of skill. this is a problem im facing a lot as i am learning digital art after being an experienced oil painter and theres such a difference of my work in the two mediums
HMMMmmm from what I remember I didn’t really worry about whether I was good or not, I just drew stuff because I liked drawing and kept at it because no one told me otherwise. I definitely didn’t draw consistently, I think sometimes there were months and months between one drawing and the next but I never completely quit and that’s what matters!! Don’t be too hard on yourself and don’t compare yourself to other people, they’re just further along on the road. Use them as inspirations instead. I don’t fall in love with any of my pieces and 90% of the time I’m just getting through the piece so I can move on to the next one and the next. I had to learn digital art from zero just like everyone and man it wasn’t pretty at first haha. Tbh I think it’s good that you’re not content with your skill level because that means you have the potential to push yourself and do better. It’s more dangerous to fall in love with your art and stagnate. ANYWAYS just my 2 cents haha ;;; if you ever have any questions regarding digital art feel free to ask me and I’ll try to help! Good luck and keep drawing!!
