I miss the ospreys :(
Everyone talking abt sum gen z is antisocial and recluse and introverts or whatever but everywhere I go seems to be populated with extroverts. Everyday I wish everyone would shut the fuck up.
so i sprayed this new 1 day hair color thing in my hair, right? bright red. i did it for fun. i THOUGHT that it would come out after I washed it. weeeelllll apparently that wasn’t the case cause my hair is STILL RED!!!
to continue from the last post: jokes are like any other form of communication. sometimes it doesn't land well for the recieving person. an obvious example is a "your mom" joke to someone who lost their mom. and you didn't realize.
it does suck to cause someone pain with what was supposed to be a lighthearted moment. you might want to stop telling jokes, or get upset at them for "ruining" it. but that's just the nature of talking to other people. sometimes there's invisible triggers. you're not a bad person for not foreseeing it.
however, please do remember to respect people's boundaries. if you do know that it's a painful area, don't go there. let them take the lead. don't get too familiar too fast as in don't start ribbing a stranger. certain topics like dark humor and politics are best to stay away from entirely until you know your audience. don't assume lack of protest is approval. some jokes are for only certain groups of people, like "white people" jokes for poc. that's not to be mean, it's a punching up vs punching down sorta thing. coping vs perpetuating.
i do want to reassure you tho that you can surivive a joke landing wrong. if you didn't know, just don't do it again. apologize and move on. people give you more grace than you think. and people don't hold onto an awkward joke unless it's part of a pattern. usually things can be talked out. and someone telling you something you did made them uncomfortable takes a lot of courage. consider that before brushing them off. how you take screwing up (even entirely by accident!) says a lot about you, more than the initial incident oftentimes.
long story short, be good to each other, jokes can hurt as much as serious comments but it's recoverable.

There's a shock of red hair flowing down over the prone dwarf. A long night spent together, in the warmth of a tent with one's loved one. She was simply delighted to not be alone any longer, after so many years of servitude and solitude. While she adored her new form, she was truly smitten by the benefits brought about by its acquisition. Bedwarmer included.
"Glorious dawn, beloved Aeducan." A smile, bright as a sunburst, shining down on the Warden from above. "You're so cute in your sleep... I've not met many of the Stone, are you all so delightfully adorable?"
Sereda groans with her eyes squeezed shut, reluctant to part from a dreamless sleep. They’re becoming fewer and farther between nightmares of the Archdemon. She feels it strengthening by the day, but as its power grows, so does hers. It will die by her blade.
Her thoughts cannot linger on the Blight while such loveliness demands her attention. Hair tickles her face, and when she finally opens her eyes, a radiant smile greets her. She offers a sleepy one in return.
“No,” is almost unintelligible through a yawn. Arms encircle her love (loves?), drawing them into a morning embrace. “I’m a Paragon of Adorable among my kind.”
ok, there’s a potential opportunity for us to live on an island next year and it is IMPRACTICAL IN EVERY WAY but man I want to live on an island.
Pet peeve.
Nothing pisses me off more than making it clear to someone when you plan a lunch with a friend that you have to be somewhere at a certain time later and THEY STILL SHOW UP LATE.
