Samuel (Sam) Raymer launched his successful mortgage brokerages, Jett Marketing and Commercial Capital Consulting, in 2000. In addition to overseeing his companies, Sam Raymer started a business breeding ball pythons.
Breeding ball pythons is relatively easy, provided that owners obtain the right housing and equipment. Pythons must reach a certain age and size before they reach sexual maturity. Male ball pythons should weigh at least 700 grams, while female pythons should be nearly three times that size.
The mating process should take place in a separate container. Once the female is pregnant, she should be moved into a smaller bin filled with damp bedding to keep the container humid. Females can produce anywhere from one to nearly a dozen eggs in one clutch.
Ball python eggs do best in an environment that is 90 degrees Fahrenheit and humid. Breeders can purchase specialized snake egg incubators or create their own using Tupperware containers and a large cooler.
