puttin' all this stuff... under the break, because if you want to read all this stuff, you can. wouldn't want it to clutter your dash or anything unless you want it to.

GENERAL FACTS
- The AU has some canon divergence / canon rewrite in it, but mainly because... Kiibo, man. I like Kiibo. And honestly, who wouldn't want to see a chaotic demon interacting with a robot?
- There's something named... the "haunting process," which is crudely named but I can't think of anything else.
Basically — some unlucky, anonymous sap on Earth ends up with a demon being bound to their soul! The demon is stuck on Earth (which... isn’t a downside, all things considered), and the poor sap lands up being haunted for the rest of their days, or if an angel finds out about that and is like "Hey... enough of that."
Buuuuut they neglect to tell you about that, honestly. It’s... like a pair of hand cuffs with an impossibly long chain that only really kicks in when one of them is an entire football field away from the other. It’s designed to screw both parties over.
- Apparently neither angels nor demons are allowed to reveal their presence to humans. BUT NO ONE TELLS YOU THAT EITHER. Well... no one told Kokichi.
- Angels and demons have a power known as "ghosting." It's basically turning invisible, but you can also walk through walls n' stuff. No one can see or hear you, but people can occasionally feel your presence, which'll often feel like someone's watching. UNCOMFORTABLE!
- Demons will involuntarily shudder when an angel is ghosting nearby. It sort of feels like "someone's walking over my grave."
- Apparently you can defy gravity when you're from Hell. That means FLOATING.
KOKICHI
- Kokichi may have had a mental breakdown on his first day in Hell. I mean... being crushed in a hydraulic press isn't something you can just immediately get over, easy peasy lemon squeezy.
- Speaking of which, his own death is a very touchy, sensitive subject. Can become nauseated at the sight of something being crushed. Do not mention or poke fun at it.
- Hasn't been in Hell long. He was there for a day at most, then discovered and signed up for the haunting process.
- Has a feeling that this haunting process was more or less designed to get rid of people down in Hell. Why he signed up to haunt someone, actually. Though he was expecting LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE.
- Before Kokichi revealed his presence, Shuichi genuinely thought he was being haunted by the spirit of a dog. The reason why is because, for some odd reason, Kokichi has been granted the ability to make a variety of dog noises.
- Kokichi can't sleep. Well, technically he can if he wants, but chooses not to due to horrific nightmares.
- Kokichi HAS tried teleporting before. It was super fucking uncomfortable, he didn't like it. The feeling can be described with one word — ew.
SHUICHI
- Shuichi's temperature blind apparently. He wears a big ass sweater all year round.
- Shuichi isn't sure how to break the news to his neighbours that he doesn't have a dog when they complain about Kokichi's howling and barking at five in the morning.
- Shuichi has figured out how tell how Kokichi's feeling through his tail, despite how annoying Kokichi thinks it is.
- Has developed a strangely fierce side. Luckily he hasn't shown this side for longer than a few seconds, and luckily it hasn't gone beyond an uncomfortably intense "back off" stare. It... doesn't happen often.
- Is actually concerned about Kokichi's ability to lie, because he's suddenly a terrible liar... when it comes to his own emotions, that is.
