Oh, one more question about Dual Prosecutors for the night! Does Edgeworth remember anything Phoenix said to him during the coma, or did he have to adjust to his old childhood friend and letter-sender impromptuly being there when he wakes up?
During the coma, Phoenix didn't think Edgeworth was going to wake up. Still, he made time every day to stop by the hospital and tell Edgeworth about his day, updating him on the Dahlia investigation and his other cases.
When Edgeworth wakes up, he doesn't think he remembers anything. But when Phoenix starts updating him on what happened, suddenly Edgeworth just...knows what he's about to say. As he recovers, his memories return. He remembers everything he heard while unconscious. The good news: he heard everything Phoenix said. The bad news: he heard everything von Karma said. Calling him worthless and a failure, disowning him, and demanding that the doctors pull the plug.
It's still a bit of an adjustment — he wasn't expecting Phoenix Wright of all people to turn up at his bedside. And he definitely wasn't expecting him to be a prosecutor.
He can only see in dim light, where colors all become dull and grey. He's forgotten what color Phoenix's eyes are, and he'll never get to learn again.
