2047 तक भारत की कुल खाद्य मांग के दोगुना होने का अनुमान

अनुमान लगाया जा रहा है कि 2047 तक भारत की कुल खाद्य मांग मौजूदा मांग से दोगुनी हो सकती है. ये अनुमान भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान संस्थान से संबंद्ध नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ एग्रीकल्चरल इकोनॉमिक्स एंड पॉलिसी रिसर्च के एक विश्लेषण में लगाया गया है. इसके साथ ही कहा गया कि भारत मेंपोषक तत्वों से भरपूर खाद्य पदार्थों — जैसे बागवानी और पशु उत्पादों — की मांग तीन से चार गुना बढ़ने की संभावना है. बताया गया है कि इस मांग को पूरा के लिए 176 मिलियन हेक्टेयर भूमि की आवश्यकता होगी जो कि वर्तमान में 180 मिलियन हेक्टेयर है. अब चर्चा इस बात की है कि इन संभावित बदलावों का सामना करने के लिए क्या किया जाए.
