Nitrobenzene eases steadily as prices revisit recent lows
Nitrobenzene prices in the domestic market continued to edge lower, extending a gradual decline seen through December. Indian Nitrobenzene prices settled at Rs 89.50/kg on December 18, marking a Rs 2.25/kg weekly drop from the prior assessment. The movement unfolded in small steps, keeping daily volatility limited even as the overall direction stayed softer.
The fortnight comparison confirms this easing tone, with prices Rs 3.00/kg below early December levels. On a month-on-month basis, values are also Rs 3.00/kg lower than mid- November, placing current assessments near the bottom of the recent trading band. Over the past 30 days, prices ranged between a high of about Rs 94.00/kg and a low near Rs 89.50/kg. Looking further back, the three-month comparison remains constructive, with prices Rs 5.00/kg above September levels, while the six-month view shows a mild decline of Rs 1.50/kg. Year-on-year comparisons are softer by Rs 4.50/kg. Indian Nitrobenzene prices have therefore moved lower recently without sharp swings. Support is identified near Rs 89.50/kg, with resistance around Rs 94.00/kg, providing clear reference points. Nitrobenzene prices in India staying close to support underline a market that is steadying after incremental declines.
