So in the German demo video you linked the dwarven scout uses the phrase "maker willing" which is interesting because I don't think there's been much precedent for surface dwarves being Andrastians yet. Unless it's kind of the Theodosian equivalent of atheists saying "oh my god"? Any thoughts?

i noticed that too! it could well be that it's kind of like atheists saying omg in our world - a surface dwarf (especially one born a surface dwarf) is in an andrastian-dominated environment where they'd often hear the maker's name being used in such a way. I expect they'd be particularly prone to saying it if they grew up hearing it around them, i.e. if they spent their formative years on the surface.

of course she could have just been communicating in a way her audience (a human) would relate to, or it could have been an oversight on the part of the writers (i doubt that though)... or she could be an andrastian dwarf. if you recall in DA:O Brother Burkel can open a chantry in orzammar depending on the player's actions - so there is a precedent for some dwarves to convert at least (although obviously it's not specifically surface dwarves involved in that quest). this might be an interesting question to direct at david gaider.

PS the "backwards sign of the cross" comment left me a bit confused, because that's the way orthodox christians do that gesture, so i never thought about it as something opposed to christian, but maybe that's what it was intended as *shrug*
