the gnomish language has many words for incurious and they are all much, much worse things to be than merely stupid
#nobody likes to be called stupid#but a lack of curiosity is a mark against your character bordering on a moral failing#usually if you're stupid you can't help it#and of course ignorance may be an absolution or an absolute condemnation depending on the circumstances#('how could you possibly have known better' vs 'you absolutely COULD have known better with literally any effort')#... and actually for gnomes the latter ALSO gets into not just 'willfully/ maliciously ignorant' but 'implies a lack of curiosity'#on the flipside curiosity is one of the traits often named in especially glowing praise of a person#ditto cleverness which denotes quick and creative thinking more than Knowing Stuff (it's a clearer distinction in Gnomish)#about me#gnome stuff#melliwyk insp#idri insp#felix insp#indigo insp
