i'll digitalise this fucker when i wake up 3/5/17
revising my childhood and i’ve realised that british kids tv contained lots of real sets??? in the form of puppets and mascots, (bagpuss, rosie and jim, get squiggling, the herbs, tweenies, brum) or like miniature models and stop motion (Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine, Noddy, The Magic Roundabout, Clangers, Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, Brambly Hedge)
and then they lost the fucking plot in the 2000s and came out with Bits and Bobs, Numberjacks, Jakers!, Boobah etc etc what where they on????
Point of the matter being that prior to the saturday morning cartoons cardinal was really into postman pat (3+yrs old), Thomas the tank engine (5+yrs) and fireman sam (8yrs) and then road runner and danger mouse happened and he got a lot less interested in whimsical stories about small towns, and a lot more interested in blowing shit up and running around and such it remained.
also keith’s stepdad had zero rules regarding media regulation so at keith’s house it was a complete free for all.
So consequently Jordie was watching slashers and playing fps games (didn’t help that keith was getting suspended for lowkey shanking people with broken plastic forks) and generally getting bad influences left right and centre.
then while he could watch pretty much whatever he wanted, on the rare occasion that jordie was at the jones’s house he’d get to see noddy and bob the builder and brambly hedge just bc of timing and stuff (1990s childhood as opposed to 1980s. there’s a ten year age difference between jordie and keith if i remember correctly)
and Mary Jones would give him some carrot sticks and chocolate nesquik and stand and watch him from the kitchen, wearing her apron and fretting. and she knows that something’s up because she’s never met a child in her life that eats carrot sticks without complaining.
Summer’s around every now and again. she’ll start up a small game with jordie and kick him a football and mary yells at them to go play outside (outside being a car park) and everyone joins in. there’s not much to do anyway
And keith would never admit the slight crush that he has on summer because how dare a girl be better than him at football.
indigo is nowhere to be found most of the time. cardinal misses her and he feels like he’s the only one that does. She lives in the nuclear shadow of her childhood ballet career. Brings her own packed lunch to christmas dinner. has three consecutive boyfriends all called Tony.
anyway to the point, the numberjacks is genuinely a horrifying show and i don’t know how they thought that was okay, especially the brain game bit and the puzzler
cardinal’s first christmas in 25 years. Keith bought Cardinal a pikachu themed case for his switch (as advised by Nez). Indigo came up from London to see him and is staying in a hotel just because it gives her slightly more control over her environment than staying with another person in their house. Folded towels and paper-wrapped soap and all that. Cardinal has seen her a few times since he came back. She brings her own coffee sachets. He makes a hot chocolate for himself with nesquik. finally he explains at length where he went and what he did. Indigo doesn’t know how she feels. They go up to Blackpool to see Summer and her kids for Boxing Day. On the car ride they don’t talk much. Indigo is still making up her mind.
audrey and friends reminds me of indigo for some reason. That and like… anna anaconda
public apology to indigo jones and me pushing my issues over the past year onto her.

A Night at Home
He remembered why he was alone all those years now. Why he didn’t talk and how he was better off alone. Arti knew that not talking was the the key to not being noticed. And not being noticed was being as close to invisible as possible. Indie saw him though. Saw him through his silent world when he was trying to hide. Indie stopped looking at Arti and headed into the kitchen. Pinkie was wrapped around his neck. “I know what will make you’re other daddy feel a little bit better.” Pinkies tiny tongue flickered her response to him. He smiled at her and softly petted her head. Together they they got the kettle ready for the stove. Indie grabbed to mugs while pinkie started to play with the water running in he sink. Indie grabbed the tea bags and looked in on Arti one more time while he waited for the whistle. Arti pet Harry aimlessly as he stared at nothing thinking about everything he’d done wrong till this point in his life. The only thing he’d done right recently was accepting Indies job offer and opening his heart to love Indie. Harry climbed into Artis hoodie pocket and rest inside. “Are you hiding like me?” Arti whispered gently to the rat pulling his hood over his head. He was crashing into the dark abyss that occasionally dug it’s claws into him. Could he fake normal Infront of Indie? Or would Indie see right through him? Indie turned around heading toward the bedroom so he could put his glasses on, then the kettle finally started to whistle. “I’m coming. I’m coming.” Indie said in a low tone. When he finally made it into the kitchen he threw I towel on the counter. Turned the water off on pinkie and wrapped her up the towel. “Don’t think you can get away with being a wet noodle all night kid.” Indie poured the hot water in the the big round mug. It was Arti’s favorite. When hot water hits the mug all the famous works of art become nude. It was favorite because it was like they were just like him. Naked. They steam fogs up indies glasses, but that didn’t bother him. He knew how to make Arti the perfect cup of tea like it was second nature. He wrapped pinkie around his free hand and arm and took the hot drink into Arti. Arti scratched at his skin. Another bad habit of his that left some not nice scars on his calves. Arti could smell the tea being brewed. His favorite smell that only Indie could create. Warmth. Safety. Something Arti still couldn’t get use too. He jolted slightly in his seat as Indie placed his favorite mug in front of him. Arti looked up at Indie with searching eyes.Indie smiled softly. Leaned in and kissed him on the forehead. He went over to the tree and gave pinkie the hint to go do her own thing. He then rubbed his hand on Arti’s cheek, and smiled again. He walked back to the kitchen to get his own cup of tea. “thank you” arti said loud enough so indie could hear in the kitchen. “I don’t know how you always make me feel okay. It’s like magic.” Arti laughed to himself. Magic. “Your a wizard indie.”. Quoting Harry Potter to keep himself smiling. Laughing. Faking. Arti sipped his tea. Fake. Fake. Fake. The demons in his head were loud tonight. Indie heard Arti’s “thank you” and continued to smile. “I know he’s having a bad day. So I’m not going to push him and make him more uncomfortable. Sometimes silence is what’s best…wait…wait. who am I talking too?” Indie chuckled to himself, cleaned up the counter grabbed a book, and sat near Arti in silence. His way of letting Arti know he was there was to just lightly press his kneed against Arti’s. He opened his book, and blew the steam from his mug. The gently small touche Indie offered were small nudges of confidence and serenity. Arti slowly laid his head on Indies shoulder and brought his legs up on the couch. Silence and simple pages turning were so soothing now. His calm slowly became to grace him with his presence and Harry crawled out of his pocket and onto his shoulder. “I’m so glad to have you here and I’m glad I get to call u mine ” arti whispered to indie kissing his cheek. Indie smiled at Arti. “Shhh.” Indie said in response. He moved a little closer to Arti, he wrapped his free arm around Arti, to avoid Harry. He then kissed the side of Arti’s head. “Just try to relax and enjoy your tea babe. We don’t have to talk at all. Just know I’m here.” He said with out letting his eyes move away from the pages in front of him. A small smile spread across Artis face as he snuggled into Indies side. His eyes slowly closed as he fell asleep against Indie. Indie continued to read while Arti fell asleep. Harry cuddled in between their shirts letting out tiny snores. Indie chuckled. "I wouldn't want my life to be any different then what it is".
