Katla wiped the beads of sweat off of her brow as she made her way up the docks and back towards the rest of the island. It had been a long day out on the fishing boats, but she wouldn’t trade it if she could. There was a comfort in the routine of her days out on the water, and a feeling of familiarity in all of the little details of her routine, that she’d been trained to do since she was a small child. She couldn’t deny that she’d been enjoying her time on the island, even if it had come with its own challenges. As she reached the beach, Katla couldn’t help but notice the absolutely glorious way the sun was hitting the water, so she stood there for a moment, taking it all in. She didn’t think she’d ever get used to just how beautiful this place was, equally as beautiful but so opposite to the place she’d grown up. From the corner of her eye she could see a figure approaching and she waved them over, “Care to join me?”
