what awesome book is this passage from?

It's Norwegian wood by Haruki Murakami

but don't be convinced by this passage that's it's about politics and education and stuff like that it's more about death and love and stuff idk i'm half way through and i adore it

Murakami's writing, especially in this book, gets me into this weird meditative mood where i start to think about everything in the big picture and be really observant about everything around me
