Fucked if I do, fucked if I don't

So hubs puts open cup of milk accidently within child's range. I see but don't say anything. Child flips the milk. Hubs blames me for not saying something.

So let me rant.

It's MY job to watch every move my hubs makes and to tell him if he is making an accidental mistake. But I get in trouble for hovering. Or nagging. Or bitching. But if I don't hover/nag/bitch it's my fault for not saying something?

So what do I do? I try to appear not to hover. Instead I make up excuses to be around. I try not to nag by helping him think the ideas are his. I try not to bitch by saying everything in a positive phrase. And when I see something, I weight the pros and cons of saying something.
