da fandom can be so incredibly sanctimonious and hypocritical, like this is why i have basically checked out
It’s so ridiculous on so many levels. People act as though characters can’t have a hint of moral ambiguity, and if they want to atone for things, they have to constantly self-flagellate over what they did wrong.
It’s really frustrating because I’d like to read some engaging meta, but there’s so much inexplicable hate, and personal attacks thrown in that it’s just exhausting.
