minsoo was a mess. his hands were shaking as he tried to set the fireplace, something that he had actually never done before. he had looked for instructions on his phone, but the storm had kicked out any reception that he had. gosh, they were going to die here, he thought to himself as he heard her voice from the corner. “what? what’s a damper?” he thought he just needed to try to light a match and throw it on the wood. it seemed it wasn’t quite that simple. “can you ... help me here?” he hated seeming useless but it was clear that he was just making things worse at this point.

           “is it not ugly sweater enough ?” judging by the look on their face, it was either that or it was so ugly they were at a loss for words. “is it bad ? why’re you looking at me like that ?”

     “wait, wait, move it up a little bit more !” it’s taking willpower youngsoo doesn’t normally have to not move forward and take over the decorating, but he’s sat on the couch with a mug of mint hot chocolate ( which is more mint than chocolate ) and the comfort of the couch is more enticing than decorating. “a little to the left, it’s still off.”

MEME: send the name of a muse for a headcanon!STATUS: accepting!

although she was created eight years ago, she’s only been ‘active’ for the past two and a half years! she didn’t really have a functioning os before that, and her current one still isn’t 100%  perfect. it requires constant updates from her creator (almost as much as frequently as apple updates its ios, okay) to keep functioning smoothly. 

she has memories of a ‘human’ life—artificially constructed and implanted, of course. her fake memories rest like an extremely long, beautifully shot movie inside her head. they span 20 years and are the main reason why she believes she’s fully human. she trusts them to be real and, you know, if they’re real, then she’s real. some people find her ability to remember events with startling clarity and specificity to be strange, but she doesn’t see it as remarkable.

there are little quirks about her life that she just accepts as normal and assumes other people deal with the same when they really don’t. plugging herself in at night to recharge, for example. her battery life is about twelve hours; after that, she’ll show warning signs before shutting down and has to be plugged into her ‘sleeping chamber’ at home to recuperate. it genuinely doesn’t occur to her that other people don’t do this on a daily basis, but she knows better than to talk about this kind of stuff in public!

minah tried not to sound so disappointed as she listened to minho tell her that he wasn’t going to make it again to their date tonight. they rescheduled this date multiple times already and she was honestly too tired to listen to whatever reason he had for tonight. after a hectic day at the pedia ward, she would rather just go home and sleep than spend time arguing with her boyfriend. “it’s fine, i understand. i’ll just see you tomorrow then.” her voice sounded exhausted even to her own ears except she wasn’t sure if it was physical tiredness that she was feeling or something else entirely. 

she hung up the phone and leaned against the wall, closing her eyes and breathing deeply. a part of her had expected this sort of thing to happen given their round-the-clock schedule at the hospital but she also couldn’t help but feel disappointed that the other wasn’t putting as much effort into the relationship anymore. she couldn’t remember the exact moment when things changed for them. 

sighing, she scrolled absentmindedly through her phone and searched for fast food restaurants nearby that could deliver to her apartment. there was no point in eating out if she was going to be alone anyways.

               it had sounded like such a good idea at first -- meet up with someone from his hookup app, lose his virginity, never have to see them again. except now that he’s sat in a motel room waiting for his mystery date, it sounds like a terrible fucking idea. maybe he should just bail. there’s still time to make a break for it. but then he hears the key in the door, and fuck, it is too late, and the first thing he says when he sees the other is, ❝ sorry, i changed my mind. ❞ smooth, haibo...
