Before Clarke even opened her eyes she came to a very important realization. Approximately six buffalo were tap dancing on her head. She groaned, sitting up with her hands on her face to block the hated light.
Vague memories of Mary Hall's retirement bar crawl. And something about her sense of self-preservation dying a brutal death when someone said 'bet you can't' about some drink. Said person was absolutely right because she nearly never drank. And –
She remembered something else abruptly. Kisses. Hands. And –
Clarke whipped her hands off her face. This wasn't her bed.
Looking down she saw a rather pretty, very naked woman sleeping next to her. A woman. A – what? Her face began to fill with blood as more shreds of memory from the night before crept into her skull. Hungover mornings were not meant for revelations.
Tentative, and not quite believing, she reached out to touch the stranger whose name escaped her.
She was cold.
Afraid now Clarke got on her knees and leaned closer, placing two fingers over the woman's cardioid. Still as a mirror. DEAD.
And apparently this wasn't changing the way it should have been! A sound like a teawhistle started somewhere in the middle of her throat, and came out as a breathy, quiet squeak.
It absolutely fucking FIGURED that the first time she slept with a woman she KILLED HER!
Clarke fumbled her way out of the bed, looking for her purse. She -- she had to call an ambulance. Also known as her coworkers... embarrassment began to mix in with the shock and horror.
“Where the fuck is it --”
