general opinions: Laharl is...enjoyable. He’s got a lot of the good and hilarious lines in the games and has one of the sweeter and most bad ass outcomes in the first game as well. But, unfortunately, some of his development falls flat with me. But that’s all. His cameos in all of the other games keep him alive in my heart because...come on. Who doesn’t love a good cameo? Laharl was actually the very first character I’ve seen of Disgaea and i was in middle school when I discovered him. Though, I’m sad to admit that it was the anime that drug me into knowing WHAT Disgaea was from the very beginning, but because of that alone, Laharl still holds value to me.

general opinions: While I am not a huge fan of the first game mostly due to game play reasons... I started disgaea with disgaea 2 so I was spoiled. Laharl was one of the most interesting main characters I had run across before. Stubborn, rude, crude, full of himself I found him to be a rather loud idiot with a complex but as the game progressed and we find out how his life was before the beginning of the game, How he had lost his mother and closed himself off I felt more of a connection to him and saw he wasn’t just a power hungry idiot but a hurt child trying to prove himself and step out of his fathers shadow. While I sometimes have mixed feelings about him I find Laharl as a well written and amazing main character and hope to see him more in future nis titles. Because its not really an nis game unless Laharl makes a Cameo
