Is that so? He did not think it would be something as valuable as to define one’s constant in this world, but it wasn’t as if Sanson was going to denounce the other of their own opinion. Loyalties swayed, courses would change. It’s the way of life, as it is from spring to winter. Life and death. Love and hate. 

“Things change, that I agree with. The course of ever changing nature runs in us, either way, so it would be nonsense to comply that something will stay the exact same as when left as is.” 

He couldn’t help but think. What made this man so interested in the forever changing pattern of a fickle heart to begin with?

“Although I would question if a fickle heart is absolute... or if it’s because we as people cannot make a decision quite yet on what we want. Hmm?”

Kai was asking for her opinion on the world around them and the tone in his voice let her know he was being serious. Why he wished to know was a mystery to her but Nix would answer him honestly. While he had changed over the years, he was still considered a very dear friend to her.. Despite his recent goals as well. Though that was a topic for another time.

“While it is true that we’ve been saddled with an unfair fate.. I still remember how I saw the world when I was a child. Before the full reality of this curse settled in and changed the way we saw things forever.” Yes, those carefree day where they all played together when time allowed. Back when they were blind to what duty was to be forced upon them and lived in a brief fantasy that all would be well. “Everything was so beautiful to me, from the sky down to the grass. I still find such sights beautiful but it’s more of a bittersweet experience now.. I find myself wishing I had more time to admire it, compared to what others free of the curse have. Perhaps some of the glamour has dulled but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten all about it. So for now, I’ll try to appreciate the time I do have to see all of it with my own eyes.”
