I mean there’s not a lot in terms of changing the damage die, 2d6 is about as good as it gets for non-legendary weapons. But you could always try enchanting it, make it a +1,2, or 3 or maybe see if you can find like a flame tongue great sword in game to add an extra d6 of fire damage, or some other effect
Thanks!! This is exactly the type of info I needed! I think the adding extra damage with another effect is the exact sort of thing that would work for me and for the DM. It doesn’t have to be much... my character has simply been on a quest to create a special weapon to “liberate her people.” [Note: her people are not interested in being liberated.]
