Information sources about geisha?

I know, I know, use google, you say - but everytime I do, it's just a short news snippet, or its that book/movie Memories of a Geisha, which as memory serves is incredibly inaccurate

I want to write about geisha, have a character of mine be a geisha in the past - but I don't want to misrepresent them when so much media has already made people think they're just ,,,, fancy looking prostitutes, or something

Doesn't necessarily have to be a strictly informative source, either! A novel about geisha life, if accurate, would be a delight to read and help me characterise even better
